Oct. 27th, 2017 06:28 pmKamui Brisby
Her eldest son, and her more notorious troublemaker. He's gone to juvie, he's gotten constantly in trouble, he's a notorious bully... but Elizabeth loves him anyway, and she will always be there for him. Even if she feels more responsible for his ill deeds than perhaps she ought to, and even if he takes every chance he possibly can to push her away. She believes wholeheartedly that no matter how much it hurts her or her other children to have Kamui misbehaving or even actively hurting his family, it would only hurt all of them even more if Kamui were to completely abandon the family. She won't accept him disappearing, still too traumatized and worried about losing him the way she almost lost him when he was much younger... she really would do anything for her kids, but Kamui is the one that most actively makes her worry.
Katsuki Brisby
Her second son and the one that reminds her so much more of Johnathan. Save for the cursing, Katsuki is absolutely brilliant, tall, strong-willed... the extremely foul demeanor is unlike either of his parents, but Elizabeth suspects it was from being harassed by Kamui and possibly from Katsuki's relation to other students as he grew up. Just like Kamui, Elizabeth is utterly devastated at the mere thought of losing her son and just like she does for Kamui, she would walk straight into the mouth of danger if it meant finding him and making sure he was safe. Fortunately for everyone involved, Katsuki doesn't test fate and push away his family the way the oldest brother does. Elizabeth can, in a way, rely on Katsuki in a way similar to how she relied on Johnathan.
Anya Vasilieva
Nosy Mrs. Elizabeth Brisby is completely aware of the fact that Katsuki and Anya aren't actually dating and she's even aware that they likely aren't even that aware of how they act around each other. ...Despite that, Elizabeth is remarkably excited at the possibility that Anya and Katsuki MIGHT date, and while she hopes that Anya will someday become her real daughter-in-law, she's currently quite happy to have her as a daughter in all but name.
Elda Marker
Every mom needs a mom friend, and even though Elda is a vampire, she perfectly fills that role. Elizabeth is extremely fond of her, and admires how strong she is; most of all, Elizabeth can relate very well to her, as the two of them have some overlapping tastes and the both of them are facing so many similar problems. Elda is kind, and easy to confide in, and Elizabeth is glad she took the time to actually befriend her... it's been helping her cope with the stress of this whole "past lives" nonsense.
Lalli Hotakainen
A very straightforward young man, which Elizabeth can appreciate since it's not inherently couched in rudeness. He's been helping her gradually improve her spelling each time they interract, which is embarrassing but she ultimately appreciates.
Sanji Vinsmoke
Though he was remarkably rude to her when they first met, Sanji's clearly not a very malicious guy. He is, after all, calmer in temperament than her second son - and it's much easier to read the sympathy and kindness in Sanji. She's only known Sanji in passing, but she has appreciated that he's offered to help when they've interracted.
How's My Driving?

NAME: Mrs. Brisby
AGE: Like... 2 years old? She's an adult field mouse.
CANON: The Secret of N.I.M.H. (I am not including anything from the sequel)
CANON HISTORY: Link!
CANON PERSONALITY: Mrs. Brisby is a simple field mouse struggling to comprehend the impossible and the tragic in her life, driven entirely by her love for her children. Losing her husband has left her with the sole burden of trying to raise her four children, including Timothy, who is afflicted with pneumonia. With no easy way to protect her family home from the farmer's plow without risking Timothy's life, she has to step outside of her breadth of knowledge and her comfort zones.
She is, after all, a very timid and frightful mouse. Fear of the farmer, of cats, of snakes, owls, and spiders... there is a lot in the field that is dangerous and her fears are quite plentiful. Even a fear of heights often paralyzes her. However, throughout her journey, she constantly has to conquer those fears in order to do what needs to be done. Her fear is an obstacle, but her devout love for her children is the key to whether or not she can find her courage. Because despite her worries and anxieties, Mrs. Brisby has a rare and powerful bravery - a bravery that is made manifest at the end of the film by the red stone pendant that Jonathan had left behind for her.
Though fear and courage are her two most defining traits, she is also notably a gentle and kind woman, especially to her children. She has a deep fondness for her family and is very polite and considerate to neighbors or to those she may be imposing on, and typically is more apprehensive about causing a scene with people. However, for the sake of her family or for doing what's right, she will absolutely stand up and assert herself, imploring for those around her to listen or to help. She also may prefer politeness, but she will often rather passive aggressively deride people who are oblivious or who are causing her a bit of trouble as well, even if she may never say a foul thing to their faces.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: She doesn't have any aside from "being a mouse".

PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES: She is a human, instead of a field mouse!
AU NAME: Mrs. Elizabeth Brisby
AU AGE: 38
PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES: She is a human, instead of a field mouse!
AU HISTORY:
➵ Elizabeth was born and raised in a very small farm town. She was never very literate, didn't go to a very good school, and ended up dropping out of high school in order to help her family around the farm during her teenage years.
➵ She met Jonathan Brisby when she was 18, nearly 19, and was smitten nearly immediately. He was about four years older than she was, but he was charmed by her kindness and demeanor. They moved to a city neighboring Recolle, got married, and soon Mrs. Brisby was pregnant with her first child (intended to be Kamui
foeyay)
➵ She had a number of other children with him (currently intended to be Jay
sweetjoker and Katsuki
eruptive), working diligently as a stay-at-home mom for some very rowdy kids.
➵ Jonathan Brisby dies in a car accident, leaving Elizabeth to raise her children alone. Kamui, her oldest, is only 8.
➵ She does her best to raise her kids through her grief and in spite of their temperaments.
➵ When Kamui is 9, he gets pneumonia. After only a year of living in the home she made with her husband, Mrs. Brisby realizes that she's far too isolated, with no relatives or friends that can help her. Desperate for help, she ends up contacting some of Jonathan's friends still living in Recolle.
➵ Jonathan's friends, intending on helping their old friend by helping his family, help Mrs. Brisby move her family to a new home in Recolle and help her pay for Kamui's medical bills. They are the ones that help enable her to stay home and tend to her children day and night, desperate to not lose her son to the sickness.
➵ Kamui recovers, and Jonathan's friends help Mrs. Brisby one last time by helping her find a job in Recolle. She gets a job working in the local farmer's market, working with several different farmers to help them manage and sell their goods.
➵ Mrs. Brisby has been living in Recolle since then, doing her best to raise her kids and keep them healthy. She's a fixture of the community, consistently getting involved and helping out where she can.
AU PERSONALITY: Her personality won't divulge too terribly much from canon! The primary difference is that the Brisby from Recolle is quite a bit older, and has older children. She is a bit more world-weary, a little more prone to being sassy or passive aggressive thanks to living in a more level and undramatic live, and generally less anxious. The incident of pneumonia is not a fresh fear, but a deep-seated one, the fright of losing her children something that pops up from time to time in the occasional nightmare rather than a crisis she has to live in the moment. Her children are also much more foul-tempered and/or misbehaved than her canon children ever were, and as a result she has a much higher tolerance for mischief than even the average single mother does. She often has little sympathy for other parents complaining about their kids unless the children they're complaining about are just as rowdy or worse than any of her children were.
